Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of four Pennsylvania Railroad diesel electric locomotives that were built by four different manufacturers: #9552, #9702, #9627, and #9492. #9552 was built by GM-EMD as an EH-15 in December of 1948, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later converted to an EF-15A, and retired in August of 1964. #9702 is a BF-15A built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during May of 1950, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in February of 1965. #9627 is an AF-16 built by the American Locomotive Company during December of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967. And #9692 is an FF-16 built by Fairbanks-Morse during October of 1950, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in April of 1965. The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. |

Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in January of 1961. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9627 and two more "AF" Class units whose numbers are not recorded. #9627 is an AF-16 built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967. They are rockin' through the North Philadelphia Station with exactly one gondola and one cabin car on a frigid Winter's day. |
