| EMD F series B units are an uncommon sight in 2013, especially in mainline service. This locomotive was delivered to Southern Pacific as F7B 8291 in February 1953 and worked in passenger service until 1970 when this was reassigned to Maintenance of Way service. The reassignment probably kept this diesel out of the scrapyard and still employed by new owner Union Pacific. |
