Baltimore & Ohio RR 0-8-0 #1515, ex#814  Contributor's Pick!       
From an internet search, this 0-8-0 appears to have been built by Alco-Pittsburgh in May 1903 as a class E-24 2-8-0 #2239, rebuilt in 1926 as a class L-1a #1055, renumbered in 1954 to #1515, retired in 1957. Max Miller was the photographer Note the diagonal crease down the tender marking the slope sheet.

Alan Fricker General Gary-that crease is the slope sheet of the coal bunker. The slope sheet made it easier for coal to fall closer to the fireman to shovel or into the stoker, if the engine was so equipped. The water tank would have been behind and below the coal bunker.
