| Tunnelbridge or Bridgetunnel ? The powerful Rohrbach avalanche rushes down the valley every winter. In 1981 a snow powder avalanche (they can reach 180 mph) demolished the rail bridge. Fortunately no train was on it. During 1982 till 1984 a unique 8000t tunnel bridge was built. The construction was built in parallel to the rail track and later moved in. |
