Cooke, 2/1884 serial #1555, nee-Denver, South Park & Pacific 2-6-0ng #72, re# inb 1885 to DSP&P #114, sold in 1889 to Denver, Leadville & Gunnison #114, sold in 1899 to Colorado & Southern #9, reblt in 4/1901 with new boiler & cylinders, reblt in 1917 with new frame, in 1939-40 exhibited at the New York World Fair, from 1940-48 stored at the CB&Q shops in Aurora, IL, in 1948-49 used at Chicago RR Fair as "Chief Crazy Horse", in 1958 went on permanent display a Hill City, SD. Jim Lockart took the color slide when he visited the railroad. |
